This past Monday, July 12th, we celebrated yet another wonderful year!  Each year, we plan an event for each other while the other person gets to sit back, be surprised and enjoy a little "date"..... This year Rob planned for his mom to come into town, to babysit, and took me out for lunch at P. F. Changs for a gluten-free meal.  After a perfect lunch, we headed out on a beautiful Stillwater boat ride.  We were seated next to another lovely couple, who were also celebrating their 7th year nuptials.  They were really enjoying some beverages and by the end of our 3 hour tour, were pretty clear on what they'd be doing once the boat docked.  (Hubba Hubba) Good for them!

We on the other hand, had plans to hit up a Dairy Queen in Saint Paul and check into our luxerious room at the Le Meridien, down down MPLS.  The hotel was simply divine and I would highly suggest it to anyone needing a little R & R.  The owner of the hotel has incorporated all of his own art collection and the walls/halls and rooms were beautiful.  There was a nice little "art vending machine" - an old cigarette machine with mock cigarette boxes covered in hand-painted designs.  We couldn't resist and got one.  It was titled
DREAM and now rests on Olivia's book shelf.  Check out the artist's other items at Nikkiwheeler info
We sat out on the patio, Eden, which was about the most amazing and relaxing place I've ever been.  It was chic, crisp and incredibly expensive.  Exactly, what an anniversary should be!  ; )

Amazed by the painting in our room.
When we arrived home on Sunday, Grandma Kathy and I packed up right away and headed out for a little pampering.  We enjoyed one hour massages and giggled at each other the whole way home.  It was quite a sight to see our hair covered in oils and standing on end!

To wrap up the day, we headed to see my mom.  Last Thursday, she underwent her implant surgery.  It has been a long road for her and I am so inspired by the way she was able to take cancer and the emotions that came with it, and of course, the surgeries one step at a time.  It isn't shocking, to me,  that she was able to keep her head held high and make the very best decisions for herself.  We loooooove you sooooo much!

For our actual day, we spend the evening together at our new favorite pizza joint, Galactic Pizza !

They have a wonderful selection of specialty pizzas, for the vegetarian/vegan or Gluten-free person, in your family!  Click on the link above to view more about them.  Olivia even gave it two thumbs up!

Hey, it's been a while!
We, like most of you, are VERY busy and enjoying every moment of this lovely Summer!

Over the 4th, we headed up to visit Grandma Kathy, Uncle Kev and our two favorite little niece and nephew, from WI.  We had an exciting time digging out holes for Uncle Kevin to put up his new pole barn.  We were only able to assist for a short time, but we likely lost 5 lbs in sweat.   We did enjoy dinners with Grandma, fireworks, fishing and a cute parade in Crosby.

Monday at 6:30 a.m., we left grandma's to visit my grandma (olivia's G.G.).  It was a long drive, so early in the morning, but we made it to Shakopee and had a lovely visit with Grandma, Mary.  She was full of insight and although, a bit confused, in great spirits.  Her and Olivia became friends, several times, and Olivia continually brought her rocks, from the surrounding gardens.

After our visit, we headed to the Minnesota Zoo for a little animal fun.  Rob and I were really impressed with Olivia and her ability to keep up so well.  She really enjoyed the prairie dogs.

By pure luck, we ended up running into my funniest uncle, Don, and his lovely wife Judy at the zoo!
